Things to consider before rigging your boat / FAQ's

Have questions on where to start? Wonder if this is the correct fit for your fishing needs? Should I start out small and go big?

We have the answers for you here.

This section will expand as rigging questions are submitted to the Traxstech staff.

Are you going to want electric down-riggers or vertical trees now or in the future?

If yes, you will want a strong mounting option right off the get go.  It is easier and more economical to go with a larger track in the beginning than to invest money in a smaller track and add to your setup.

What length/size of mounting track should I mount on my boat?

The track is the least expensive item and it is easier to mount one longer track, rather than adding it in smaller sections down the road. IE: If you want to add another rod holder, net holder or adjustable cleat, with the longer track you are already set up for it. Just slide it in and go.

Do the mounting tracks come with hardware to install them?

Yes. They come with stainless steel 1-3/4" long screws with lock washers, fender washers and nuts.

How do I determine what angle of T-Bolt mount I need for my boat?

To confirm the angle on your boat please use a protractor or download                    the app from google play store:

In regard to recent current events.

Starting April 19, 2018 Traxstech will be having all our UPS shipments require a signature for deliveries.

If you wish to waive that requirement you must let us know when you place your order. If you do waive the required signature, and UPS says your package was delivered and it is lost or stolen then it is on you.

If you have a specific spot you want UPS to put your package; IE: back door, garage door, shed, etc. please let us know.

Here at Traxstech we value our customers and want to protect your orders placed with us.

We want your orders to end up in your hands, not in the hands of thieves.

What is the minimum length of track I can use to install my Vertical Bird Trees to my boat?

We recommend using our MT-24 or larger tracks. The longer the track the more stability and strength you will have. Using a smaller length may cause your equipment to fail and the possibility of losing your valuable equipment to the bottom of a lake increases.

What size fuse does the Traxstech Downrigger use?
